01

Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Particle Spectrum Labs, LLC ("Particle Spectrum Labs," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Purr mobile application for iPhone and iPad (the "App"), the website at purrapp.com (the "Site"), and related support communications. Together, we call these the "Services."

This policy does not govern Apple or any other third party that operates under its own terms and privacy policy.

What happens today

The Purr app

The App does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or payment details. It does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or social features.

Purr sends a small set of product-interaction metrics and technical diagnostics to Sentry, a service provider acting on our behalf. Product metrics include events such as an app launch, viewing or selecting a cat, starting and ending a cat visit, visit duration, preview use, and the outcome of an optional purchase or restoration attempt. We do not send the content or path of individual touch gestures.

These records may include the cat or feature involved, app version and environment, device family and model, operating system name and version, timestamps, and technical crash, app-hang, performance, or error details. We do not assign these metrics an account ID, installation ID, advertising ID, name, or email address. Sentry is configured to discard IP addresses. Screenshots, session replay, network request capture, structured logs, and automatic performance tracing are disabled.

Information kept on your device

Sound, haptics, lighting, purchase access, and other experience preferences may be stored locally on your device using Apple platform features. These preference values remain on your device. You can clear locally stored preferences by deleting the App; Apple may separately retain purchase history needed to restore an App Store purchase.

App Store downloads and purchases

Apple processes App downloads, optional in-app purchases, payment information, and purchase restoration. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. For product analytics, Purr sends only an anonymous result such as purchased, cancelled, pending, failed, restored, or no purchase found, together with the cat involved when relevant. Apple may also provide developers with sales reports and aggregated or privacy-protected app statistics under Apple's own privacy practices and your device settings.

The Purr website

The Site and its hosting, content-delivery, and security providers may automatically receive limited technical request information. This may include an IP address, browser or device type, requested page, request date and time, approximate region inferred from the IP address, and performance, security, or error signals. This information is used to deliver, secure, and maintain the Site. We do not use advertising pixels or this information to track you across unrelated services.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, name, message, and any attachments. We use it to respond, provide support, protect the Services, and keep appropriate business records.

03

App analytics, diagnostics, and website operations

We use the limited App metrics described above to understand aggregate product use—for example, which cats and features are visited and whether a purchase flow succeeds—and to improve Purr. We use crash and technical diagnostics to investigate defects, app hangs, and reliability. We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, or tracking across apps or websites.

The Site's hosting, content-delivery, and security providers may process request, performance, security, and error logs as needed to serve the Site, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability. We seek to limit both App and website processing to information reasonably needed for these purposes.

04

How information is used

We use information described in this policy to:

  • provide, maintain, and secure the Services;
  • respond to support, privacy, and other communications;
  • diagnose errors and prevent fraud, misuse, or security incidents;
  • understand aggregate App feature use and improve the experience;
  • maintain website performance and reliability;
  • administer purchases and related customer support; and
  • comply with law and protect our rights and users.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing a requested service, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time, without affecting processing that was lawful beforehand.

05

Sharing, sale, and disclosure

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so during the 12 months before this policy's effective date. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about people.

Information may be disclosed only in these limited situations:

  • Service providers. Vendors may process information on our behalf for hosting, security, communications, payment-related support, analytics, diagnostics, or website operations. Sentry processes the limited App metrics and diagnostics described above in the United States. Service providers are required to handle information consistently with this policy, applicable law, and contractual restrictions.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or defend legal claims.
  • Business changes. Information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable notice and legal requirements.
  • At your direction. We may disclose information when you ask us to or give valid consent.
06

Retention, security, and transfers

On-device preferences remain until you change them or delete the App. App analytics and diagnostics are retained under our configured service-provider retention settings and deleted or de-identified when no longer reasonably needed to operate, troubleshoot, and improve Purr. Website infrastructure providers may retain request, performance, and security logs under their configured or standard retention practices. Support communications are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.

07

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have rights to know or access information, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling, and appeal a denied request. You may also have the right to complain to a privacy or data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

To make a request, email us at [email protected]. Describe the request and the Service involved. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing it. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law. We may be unable to associate anonymous App metrics, technical diagnostics, or limited website infrastructure logs with a verified individual.

The current Services do not engage in tracking, sale, or sharing that requires an opt-out, so browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals do not change the experience today. If our practices change, we will honor legally required preference signals and provide any required opt-out mechanism.

08

Children's privacy

The Services are intended for a general audience and do not ask a child to create an account or submit a name, email address, photo, voice recording, precise location, or other profile information. The App's limited anonymous product metrics and technical diagnostics are used only to operate, troubleshoot, and improve Purr—not to contact a child, build an advertising profile, or track anyone across services. Limited technical website request information may be processed by hosting and security providers only to deliver and protect the Site—not to contact a child, build an advertising profile, or serve behavioral advertising. If we learn that a child's personal information was collected in a manner that requires parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian may contact us at [email protected].

Before introducing child-directed collection, we will provide the notices and obtain the parental consent required by applicable law.

09

Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Services, law, or our practices. The revised policy will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice or seek consent when required. Continuing to use the Services after an update does not waive any rights or consent requirements provided by applicable law.
